Throughout this site the term "text" or "text line" refers to a line of text with up to 20 characters. The term "short text" is used to indicate a maximum of 12 characters. (Short text is used when you choose to combine text and clip art on a 4by8 brick). The height of the characters is 15mm. The distance between lines is also 15mm. This is our standard text layout. We can mark taller characters, however the number of characters must be reduced accordingly. See the "Class of 2009" brick.
Text is centered on the brick in both directions, up down and left right. ( If you need a different alignment please call us) . Within an order all bricks must have the same alignment and font. Most fundraisers are offering a limited choice of designs to insure uniformity.
Our standard font is Optima , however you can select virtually any other true type font. Keep in mind that the brick is a rough material so you don't want to use a very skinny, fragile font.
Symbols (special characters), can be included in the text
if they are part of the latin-1 subset for
the given font. Please note that these symbols may change if
you use a different font. Click on the following links to see a picture
of all the characters for our most popular fonts: Times New Roman, Arial,
Comics, Courier, .If you
intend to use different fonts, please supply different order forms for
each font / alignment combination.
Greek, Hebrew and many other specialty fonts are available. If you have another font in mind, send us the font file, we will mark a sample at no cost.
The other types of mark are clipart, graphics.
